Welcome to Cape Porpoise, the quiet side of Kennebunkport.

The Cape Porpoise Motel is situated just off the center of this quaint New England fishing village in Kennebunkport. Awake to sunrise over our park like front lawn. Make coffee in your room (we will supply) and bring your own breakfast items to the sun filled stoop in front of your room or the patio under the umbrellas.

Take a stroll to the village artisan shops to appreciate local art and harbor views. Spend a day on the white sands of Goose Rocks Beach or explore the tide pools of Kennebunk Beach, each just two to three miles away.

Cape Porpoise offers a very fine array of dining from catch of the day lobster in rough at famous Nunans Lobster Hut to full service finer dining at Lost Fire, Musette or Ultimar. Dine in or take out, there are several options within walking distance of the motel. After dinner enjoy your evening by the fire on the motel’s patio where guests mingle and share stories over a personal beverage. Friendships are made and memories are forged here at the Cape Porpoise Motel.

Whether your plans include antiquing, biking, kayaking, hiking, sharing a family day at the zoo, amusement or water park or simply relaxing at the beach, consider the very quiet and convenient location of the Cape Porpoise Motel. This just may become your favorite place to exhale.

The “Vintage Cottage” is a 1960’s trailer that was enclosed with an added living dining space.  It has two bedrooms, one on either end, each with a queen bed, no in room closets…too small/tight.  There are no actual doors to the bedrooms, you walk around the partial wall to enter so semiprivate.    Connecting the bedrooms’ is a full but galley style kitchen with basic appliances and kitchen ware (no automated dish washer). There is a narrow hallway which has the only small closet (approx. 2 foot wide). Off the hallway is a large full bath. The living /dining area has sun filled windows with privacy curtains. Cable TV, AC, 5G WIFI, Shark vacuum, Swiffer floor mop, Hair Dryer and all bed, bath and kitchen linens are supplied.

All in all the vintage cottage is modest, pleasant sufficient lodging for a week at the beach with the ability to cook meals but… underneath it all, make no mistake, it is an aesthetically maintained 1960’s trailer.  Works for most but sometimes folk’s expectations are greater than the vintage cottage can deliver.
